What we do
What's cooking?
The Food Station is in a planning stage: the Development Trust is evaluating the feedback from a detailed Business Case Study (April – July 2025).
The study took information from the Trust’s own feasibility report together with the results of the Business Case survey.
All is being evaluated before ‘next steps’ are considered.
Fundamental to the project going forward is a clear understanding of the community benefits that can and will be delivered.
The ‘next steps’ will be shared on this site’s ‘news’ as well as through other local and regional media outlets including CuparNow’s Blog and social media channels.

Food First
The underlying premise of the Food Station is the ensure ‘food’ is at the heart of the town and our community.
“A food & drink destination for all that will transform Cupar’s town centre, regenerate our market town’s fortunes and build a sustainable hub to support our community.”
Commercially Driven
We are a Development Trust and our mantra is to create wealth to sustain our community.
To that end, we must ensure that the opportunities created by the Food Station make a profit: without that certainty, we cannot deliver the community benefit that is so needed – as highlighted by the recent Community Action Plan and Local Place Plan.
We must move away from annual funding rounds that are susceptible to changing budgets and political landscapes. We see the Food Station – commercially driven – as a way to secure a sustainable future for the Trust and the support work we deliver across our town and catchment.
To achieve that goal, we have a stepped process:
- Feasibility Study and Business Case Study
- Building & Structural Engineer Surveys
- Aquisition of the property
- Letting Plan for Occupation & Trading
- Trading and Ongoing Development
